The Earth Isn't Flat... (and I didn't fall off).

I can't believe the last time I wrote a post was in October!!! Where have I been??? I let myself get wrapped up in classes, holidays, being a dog mom, etc. In short, if one takes off too much time between posts, one may never write another post.

But... The Earth isn't flat, and I didn't fall off.

I keep thinking that I must think of something particularly witty or wonderful to write before I make my next post. So... I've obviously not made my next post. Tonight I thought, "I miss blogging so much!" So then I thought, "Then just write something, dodo!"

That's the key! If I make myself write, even if I don't have a topic planned out, the words will come. If nobody reads them... oh, well. At least I wrote!

So while I haven't fallen off the Earth, here's a bit of what I have been doing:

  • Plugging away at the second master's degree... still. But, by this time next year, I'll be done and off on my next adventure.
  • Studying. I'm actually trying to avoid any all-nighters, and the stress of always feeling behind. But, I live on stress, so we'll see how long it lasts. :)
  • Wasting time on facebook... when I'm not studying.
  • Working. Lots and lots of work. But, I like what I do. I wish I wasn't always so broke, but I'm all-in for the total grad school experience.
  • Spending time with my demanding adorable... but demanding "son" The Artful Dodger. (He's a dog, folks.)
  •  Keeping up with Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, attending sports and arts events on campus and around town, seeing a movie now and then (the last one was Les Miserables... please insert the Olympic gymnast "not impressed" face here:     ), and always regretting that I don't find more time to read more fiction as most of my reading time is devoted to communication issues and arts management (although I L-O-V-E that second one. Reading new ideas makes me want to get out there into the real world again!)
  • Working on relationships (and mostly long-distance), family, etc.
I'm sure there's more, but that's a look into my life and my brain for that matter, as I sit here writing this impossible post that has been several months in the making. It's not much, but sometimes I'm in an average place (example: I still manage to watch too much TV, but I work hard, and I try to study hard), and sometimes I'm in a good place (example: I have an internship this semester that I really love, and I just recently got to be an actor again), and every now and then I'm in a great place (example: soon I'll be directing a beautiful new play-which I'm hoping to Live Tweet whut-whut!- and it's going to be a great adventure).

So, until I write again, know that I'm circling 'round on the same big, semi-round, ball of cosmic matter that you are, and I hope my posts mean a little something to you.

Until Next Time...
Ro Huizinga
